GGC Grant

Students may qualify for the 2007-2008 and/or 2008-2009 GGC Grant, offered by Georgia Gwinnett College and administered by the Office of Financial Aid.  The GGC Grant is a need based grant determined by the cost of attendance and financial need. It is awarded according to each student’s financial need as determined by our institutional need analysis formula. This formula models the federal methodology (need analysis) used when determining federal eligibility. Some examples of the factors used to determine a student’s need is adjusted gross income, household size and number in college within that household. The GGC Grant can provide up to full tuition, fees and a nominal book allowance, but does not provide living expenses.

Awards for less than full time students (enrolled in fewer than 12 credit hours) are prorated based on the students' enrollment status. For example:

  • If you are enrolled full time (twelve or more credit hours), you receive your full eligibility for the term.
  • If you are enrolled for nine to eleven credit hours, you receive three-fourths of your eligibility for the term.
  • If you are enrolled for six to eight credit hours, you receive one-half of your eligibility for the term.
  • If you are enrolled for less than six credit hours, you receive one-fourth of your eligibility for the term.

If you enroll full-time Fall and Spring terms, you will receive your full scheduled GGC Grant award and no GGC Grant eligibility will remain for Summer.

Please note: Students who are HOPE eligible are not allowed to receive a maximum GGC Grant award and HOPE Scholarship at the same time. You may receive your full HOPE Scholarship and a portion of your eligible GGC Grant to use toward any fee balance, as well as a possible increased book allotment.
