This one credit seminar is required for all incoming first-year students with less than 30 transferable credits. It prepares students for college and provides them with skills crucial to their success in a college environment.
The course is designed to assist students in obtaining the knowledge and practical skills necessary to reach their educational objectives and beyond. It develops a greater self-awareness, an understanding of learning styles and personality types and teaches students skills necessary for college level coursework. Students learn about issues that promote creativity, critical thinking and the value of diversity in our global world.
The classroom environment for GGC 1000 is one that encourages interaction between peers and faculty/mentor members by ensuring that class size is small and that activities promote engagement among participants.
