Photo of Rico Torres The School of Business promotes a learning community characterized by student engagement, a faculty dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement in teaching, scholarship and service. By developing leading-edge programs that nurture and advance intellectual inquiry, critical thinking abilities, social skills, and ethical reasoning, the School of Business prepares individuals to be business leaders in an increasingly complex and changing global environment.

Values:

  • Dedication to an intimate and interactive environment that encourages an open and innovative exchange of ideas
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service
  • Respect for diverse perspectives, experiences and cultures
  • Creation and sustenance of a culture of student engagement that enhances ethical decision-making and intellectual curiosity
  • Collaboration and connection with stakeholder communities
  • Development and support of a faculty that embraces inter-disciplinary endeavors
  • Pursuit of continuous improvement

The School of Business offers the Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentrations in General Business, Accounting, Finance and Marketing.  Twenty-first century leaders and managers will need to know how to: maneuver on the global stage, embrace the technological revolution, commit to corporate social responsibility, and see and appreciate the world through broad multi-disciplinary lenses. On the “Campus of Tomorrow”, School of Business programs provide tomorrow’s leaders with knowledge and skills necessary to become lifelong learners, successful members of the workforce, and engaged citizens.

The curriculum integrates theory and practical experience using real world issues and challenges to develop an understanding of the societal, organizational and individual impacts of business decisions.  In addition to basic business principles and practices, the program emphasizes and integrates synergistic elements such as technological innovation, ethics and social responsibility, and internationalization.
