Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no sign-up required.
Supported activities and functionality:
- Research activities, including Internet access.
- Saving files to USB drives or burning CD’s. See our guide to saving electronic articles.
- WebCT Vista.
- Personal email.
- Listening to music or multimedia. Headphones are provided at each workstation.
- Viewing certain reference or reserve material on CD or DVD
- Some CDs on reserve contain specific software that is not supported on library computers. With few exceptions, these CDs are available for longer checkout periods and can be taken from the library.
- Windows Media Player and Quick Time are available for multimedia applications.
Activities that are NOT permitted and/or supported:
- Accessing the control panel, running commands, reconfiguring or installing software or attempting any other activity that might compromise the short-term or long-term functionality of any of the public access computers is not permitted.
- Using any software or application not previously installed by the Georgia Gwinnett College staff.
- Changing the background or installing wallpaper is prohibited.
- Use of the right-click menus. Handouts are available that provide you with alternative ways of completing right-click tasks.
- Recreational chatting is prohibited.
- Graphically violent or sexually explicit games are prohibited.
- Viewing, downloading, or distributing pornography, violent, or inappropriate material is prohibited.
- Children/young adults under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when using the library computers.
- Noncompliance with computer use policies can result in loss of library privileges.
Priority of use:
Computers are reserved for the following users, in order of priority:
- Students, faculty, and staff affiliated with the Georgia Gwinnett College.
- Students, faculty, and staff affiliated with partner institutions.
- Other members of USG institutions.
- General public.
Computers are reserved for the following activities, in order of priority:
- Research or locating library material.
- Accessing multimedia applications relevant to scholarly research.
- Accessing a webCT or other class session.
- Personal email.
Provided there are computers available, the following activities are permitted:
Activities not included in this list may be deemed inappropriate, and you may be asked to stop engaging in such activity.
Printing:
Print-outs cost 15 cents per page and may be picked up at the circulation desk or Mezzanine help desk. Cash only.

Please note:
- The library user is responsible for any and all copyright violations that may be committed through the use of library computers. Intentional violation of copyright law is not permitted. For more information, refer to the U.S. Copyright Act of 1976, Title 17 U.S. Code and the University System of Georgia's Board of Regents policy.
- Rules and regulations of Georgia Gwinnett College are to be followed. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of patron borrowing privileges.
